A drug for coronavirus from the UK
A group of British scientists believe that an inexpensive, generic drug can be used successfully to treat coronavirus. They say the low dose of dexamethasone is a sign of the fight against coronavirus.
This research is part of a worldwide series of research into whether different drugs are useful for the coronavirus. About one-third of patients admitted to ventilators have survived of the drug. The drug has been shown to reduce the mortality rate in one-fifth of patients who are given oxygen.
Researchers say the drug could have saved 5,000 lives if it was used in the UK at the start of the Corona epidemic.
